These sessions for parents will be Mondays from 7:00 pm—8:30 pm. Trained and experienced leaders will share ideas, experiences and stories with participants. There will be time for question and answers and group discussion.
Introduction to Teens--Development
Monday, September 19, 7- 8:30 pm
Teenage developmental stages can be so complex since it bridges the gap between being a child and an adult; fast physical growth, hormonal changes, huge mental and social dynamics and more will be discussed in this session.

Straight Talk about Sex with Your Teen
Monday, September 26, 7- 8:30 pm
This session will encourage and equip parents to have open and frank commu- nication about sex and values for healthy and meaningful relationships.

Dealing With Risky Behavior
Monday, October 3, 7- 8:30 pm
This session will define various types of risky and destructive behaviors, (i.e. sub- stance abuse, inappropriate internet use, eating disorders, cutting, etc.) early warning signs and ways to build bridges of support.

Discipline and Boundary Setting
Monday, October 10, 7- 8:30 pm
This session will provide a positive parent- ing approach to setting boundaries,
(i.e. dating relationships, curfew, roles and responsibilities for parents and teens, driving privileges, computer usage,
etc.) and will offer effective techniques for fair, firm and family friendly discipline.

Dealing with Defiance and Rebellion
Monday, October 17, 7- 8:30 pm
The session focus will provide a framework for responding to defiant, disrespectful, angry teens and the way that impacts the entire family as well as give parents the tools to respond and manage the anger and stress within the home.

Staying Connected--Communication
Monday, October 24, 7- 8:30 pm
This session focus is on the importance of effective verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, the road blocks and building blocks to healthy communication between you and your teen.
